Foundation
Welcome to Week 1
Much of week 1 is about the foundation. 1/4th of an entire program is quite a long time to spend just on foundation, but without it I can assure you it is very unlikely you will see the benefits of this program.
Remember the point of this program is to build a foundation that you can always return to when you're back to the drawing board. I want you to be fearless to the state of zero. The confidence in your drawing board doesn't come from what techniques you use, what platforms you use; it depends on how you approach your practice.
The practice depends on a deep connection to your heart. To connect to your heart you must be able to find it. The week 1 practices and exercises are designed to get you to firmly connect to your heart so you can be in tune with it while you participate in your activities.
This Week's Mantra
"I will say yes and do before anything else."
Start every morning by reading this mantra three times. Notice the feelings that come up. Write them down. This is not about thinking; it is about feeling. When I tell you to say yes and do first, how does that land in your body?
Your Reading
Before you begin the daily quests, please read the following concept modules:
About "No Teeth, Then Gum"
In the things we do, we are often times met with blockers. What I'm asking out of you for the next 4 weeks is to not give up on your intentions when you meet a blocker. Sometimes the blocker is your inner resistance. Sometimes the blocker is a technical limitation. Sometimes the blocker is a lack of network. Regardless of what it is, I want you for the next 4 weeks to develop the ability to stay present with yourself as you work through the blockers.
You want to eat something, but you don't have teeth. Then use your gums to eat. It's a gritty concept, but the heart that allows for this mindset is what I want you to have access to.
Week 1 Daily Quests
This week you have 3 daily quests. These are your foundation:
- Daily Mantra Sharing
Read the mantra, notice the feelings, share what comes up in writing. - Heart-Based Writing
Open your heart 3 times. 4 paragraphs minimum. Use the daily prompt or your own topic. - Help One Person
Go to Reddit. Find someone who needs help. Help them, without any strings attached. I don't care if you go to a post with one point that nobody is seeing. Help somebody.
That's it. Three things. Every day. Do not add more, do not skip any. Build the groove first.
